Class Of 1964 USAF Academy

Jack's History

jackgloria_edited_sm.jpg I attended Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) at Laughlin AFB, TX in Class 66-B. I graduated from UPT in September 1965 with assignment to B-52Gs at Griffiss AFB, NY.

After 3 years in B-52s, I was selected to participate in the Short Range Attack Missile (SRAM) test program with Boeing contractors at Holloman AFB, NM. The B-52G/H Category II test program entailed flight test of the solid-state rocket missile capable of carrying a nuclear weapon.

Following that two-year assignment, I worked a year at Hq Military Aircraft Command (MAC) Personnel, Scott AFB, IL on a SAC/MAC internship. An assignment to rescue HC-130s at Korat RTAB, Thailand preceded return to personnel at the Hq USAF Personnel Center, Randolph AFB, TX for 4 years.

After 6 months at the Armed Forces Staff College, I returned to flying in KC-135s at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC and Altus AFB, OK for the last ten years of my career. A majority of this time was in flight training and as an initial cadre of instructor in the KC-135R (the new turbo fanned aircraft).

PME/Education: Armed Forces Staff College (R), Industrial College of Armed Forces (C), Air Command and Staff College (C), Squadron Officers' School (C) and Masters in Business Administration, Webster University (1978).
